Troieshchyna is a panel housing estate where many flats still hold Soviet-era carpets: dense pile, large area, decades of dust. It is the most common booking in the district and the most visually convincing one — the line between the cleaned and uncleaned half is plain to the eye.

Carpet and fitted carpet cost 130 UAH per square metre: a 2×3 metre rug comes to 780 UAH and a 3×4 one to 1,560 UAH. A two-seater sofa is 1,600 UAH, a three-seater 1,800 UAH, an armchair 545 UAH, a mattress from 999 UAH and a headboard 899 UAH. The minimum order is 2,600 UAH, so a large rug is usually booked together with a sofa.
Old carpets
Dense pile holds dirt deeper than modern synthetics, so the extractor passes over it twice and sometimes three times — the work takes longer while the price stays tied to the area. If the carpet has a wool base or is hand-woven, we decline: extraction shrinks it, and it needs a workshop with immersion washing.
The rule is simple: synthetics and machine weaving are cleaned at home, natural wool is not. The cleaner establishes which is which before starting.
Winter salt marks
From November to March the main problem in the hallway is salt and de-icing chemicals carried in from the street. The white streaks wash out well, but postponing is a bad idea: salt gradually destroys the pile, and after two winters a carpet no longer fully recovers.
How the work is done
The carpet stays where it lies: it is vacuumed, the solution is applied and left to work for a few minutes, and a Kärcher extractor then pushes water in under pressure and draws it back out with the dissolved dirt. The pile stays damp for four to eight hours and can be walked on almost immediately.
Furniture standing on the carpet is moved aside one piece at a time. The pile underneath is always darker, and that is where the difference shows most.
