Hourly cleaning: what a cleaner gets done in an hour

The standard price follows rooms and bathrooms, and for an ordinary flat that is the fairer way: you pay for the scope rather than for the cleaner's speed. But there are cases where counting rooms makes no sense — and then an hour at UAH 499 and your list of priorities does the job.

When hours suit better

• a flat that stood empty for months: dust everywhere but little furniture;
• cleaning after a party — the kitchen and bathroom matter, the rest can wait;
• single tasks: washing walls, blinds, sorting the shelves inside kitchen cabinets;
• getting ready for guests when you have two hours and a specific list;
• an unusual property the calculator cannot price.

What a cleaner actually manages

In one hour — cleaning the oven inside, or putting one bathroom in order, or washing two or three windows, or emptying and wiping the shelves inside the kitchen cabinets. In two hours — the whole kitchen with the outside of the appliances. In three to four — a full clean of a one-room flat.

Those are real figures rather than advertising ones. If you are unsure, send the manager photographs of the kitchen and bathroom: they will name the number of hours before the booking, and that estimate does not change on site.

How to structure the work

Write a short list in order of importance: kitchen, bathroom, floors, dust, windows. The cleaner works down it, and if time runs out, what stays undone is what you placed last — not what the cleaner chose to skip.

Products and equipment come with the cleaner. If a wet vacuum or a steam cleaner is needed, say so in advance: those are separate items at UAH 699 and 350.

When hours are not worth it

For an ordinary flat the per-room price is almost always cheaper: a two-room flat costs UAH 2,400, while the same work by the hour is five to six hours, or 2,495 to 2,994. We say so plainly instead of selling hours where they are not needed.

How many hours to allow

A single hour is rarely worth it: the cleaner's journey takes as long as the work itself, and sixty minutes cover only one task from the list. The practical minimum is two to three hours, which is what the manager allows when pricing an unusual job from photographs.

Two people instead of one

When time is short we send two cleaners: they work in parallel, and four hours of work are done in two. The price is the same — UAH 499 per person-hour, so two people for two hours cost what one person costs for four.

What is not charged by the hour

Upholstery cleaning, washing windows from outside above the second floor and post-renovation cleaning have their own rates rather than hourly ones: they need separate equipment and a separate calculation. Nor are hours quoted for work we do not do at all — facades, garages, gardens.
