In a home with a cat or a dog the dirt is distributed differently. The floor gets no worse than usual, but the textiles, skirting boards and corners under the furniture collect hair that ordinary cleaning spreads around rather than removes.
Hair
Hair comes off the sofa and the rug with a brush before any damp cleaning. Do it the other way round and the fibres stick and work deeper into the pile — which is exactly why hair "comes back" the day after you clean yourself.
Then the wet vacuum: an ordinary one returns the fine fraction to the air through its exhaust. Not every household has one, and ours costs UAH 699 per visit.

Litter tray and feeding area
Cleaning the tray is a separate item at UAH 199: we wash the tray itself and the floor around it. The owner changes the filler — cleaners do not handle biological waste, and that is a general rule rather than an exception for particular bookings.
The feeding area is covered as part of the kitchen: the bowls, the floor under them and the water mark that eventually stains laminate.
Smell
Smells are treated with an enzyme product that breaks down the source instead of masking it with fragrance. On fresh marks the result is complete. If an animal has marked the same spot for years, the honest forecast is that the smell fades but can return in damp weather — the fabric and the backing are soaked through.
Sofa and mattress
Sofa cleaning starts at UAH 1,600, a mattress at 999, carpet at 130 per square metre. The minimum dry-cleaning order is 2,600. For a home with a pet the sensible rhythm is every six months rather than once a year.
Product safety
We use professional chemistry without a sharp smell and no chlorine in rooms where animals live. After damp cleaning the floor needs no extra wiping — the product leaves no film for a cat to lick off its paws.
A dog after a walk
Most of the winter mess in the hallway is not hair but road salt off the paws. It leaves white marks on laminate and in tile joints; fresh ones wash off with ordinary damp cleaning, while marks a few weeks old are treated with a steam cleaner for UAH 350.
Regularity beats one-off blitzes
In a home with a pet a single cleaning holds for three or four days, after which the hair returns to the same places. What works is a schedule — weekly or fortnightly, with 15 % and 10 % off respectively — plus upholstery cleaning as a separate item twice a year.
If the animal is wary of strangers
Say so when booking. The cleaner works with a vacuum running in unfamiliar surroundings, so the animal is best shut in one room and that room cleaned last — or first, if you are home and can move them.
Scratches and wear
Scratches on doors and wallpaper, worn corners and torn carpet pile are not restored by cleaning. The cleaner says so beforehand: in a home with a pet some of the marks are wear, not dirt.
