A move is the only moment when a flat stands empty. That is the best possible state for cleaning: you can see the floor under the wardrobe, the wall behind the fridge and corners that have been hidden for years. It is worth using, because the next such moment is a long way off.
What it costs
The price is the same as for an occupied flat: UAH 1,950 for one room, 2,400 for two, 2,850 for three. But an empty flat goes faster, so the same sum covers more — the inside of cabinets (900) and windows (350 each) work out cheaper than in a furnished home.

What matters here is whatever appeared where the furniture stood: the outline of dust on the floor, dark patches on the wallpaper behind the sofa, crumbs and small objects under the kitchen units. We cover the whole floor rather than the walkways, wash the skirting boards around the perimeter and the switches nobody has wiped in years.
The balcony and the storage room are cleaned separately once everything has been taken out: UAH 299 for a balcony.
Cleaning before moving in
In a new flat the order reverses: cabinets and shelves inside first, then the bathroom and kitchen, and the floor last so it is not washed twice. If the flat is straight after renovation, a different rate applies: UAH 150 per square metre.
The ideal window is after the old furniture has gone and before the new arrives. In that gap the work takes a third less time.
Handing the flat back to the landlord
If you are the tenant moving out, cleaning before handover is the same work, only the landlord inspects it rather than the next tenant. The usual complaints are the oven, the hood, the fridge inside and the bathroom joints. All four together come to about UAH 1,850 and settle most deposit questions.
What about packing
Packing, transport and carrying boxes are not ours — that is the removal company. Small debris left after packing goes out with the cleaning; construction waste and furniture for disposal do not.
How long to allow
An empty one-room flat takes three to four hours, a two-room flat four to five. With furniture still in place, add an hour or an hour and a half: the cleaner works around boxes and it cannot go faster.
Keys and acceptance
If you have already left, keys can stay with neighbours or the concierge, or be delivered for UAH 499. The cleaner sends photographs afterwards and you accept the work remotely — the standard scenario for a move to another city.
